Adding a doggie fence

Isaac and I added a gate/fence on the side yard to keep the dogs corralled when we want them contained.
Zeke thinks pea gravel is tasty; very, very, irresistibly tasty.

Another Day at the Park

We've been hanging out outside a lot lately since the weather has been so nice.
Zeke is starting to get the hang of throwing a ball...although half of the time the ball is thrown backwards instead of forwards.

Joshua's Baseball Game

Zeke's cousin Josh had a baseball game at the park; so the whole family turned out to watch him and enjoy the great weather - it was probably 75 degrees at least. Mercy was being so nice to Zeke, trying to give him a hug.
All the kids flock to Aunt Marina.

Zeke, stealing all of his Aunt Brianna's snowcone.

Snow Vacation

We decided to go visit Jen & Mark in Tahoe and see some snow.
We drove and drove and drove...

And drove some more...

Thankfully, Zeke was a pretty good traveler. We stopped often...so often that the trip home took 11 hours; normally it would take 8 tops.

Finally we arrive in Tahoe - just in time for a huge storm! It was great to be able to sit inside a warm house and watch the snow falling. I also watched Mark and Jen shovel and blow snow out of the driveway. I was so glad to be able to stay inside and not have to go anywhere...meanwhile Jen & Mark had to clean a rental house. Snow country is so lovely to visit...but I couldn't help but think of my green grass, my flowers and my citrus trees at home.

The next morning we opened the front door to a new 12" of snow!!! I asked Jen what why the house rattled during the night - thought it was an earthquake at first. Jen explained it was Avalanche Control shooting their cannon at the mountain. Exciting!

Here's Jen shoveling a pathway for Betsy in the backyard.

We took Zeke outside to play. He was wearing fleece footie PJ's with sweatpants and a sweatshirt on top plus his beanie and another sweatshirt. Temperatures were in the single digits.

He liked the snow....

Tasted the snow a few times...

My snow angel-hahaha.

There was a big book sale at the library so we piled into the car and drove into town. Thank goodness Mark drove...because there is no way I would attempt to drive the Audi in this!

A view of the front yard.

Taking Zeke for a "walk."

Apache Ave. looking towards highway. Beautiful!

Look how high the snow is!

Zeke decided that he preferred to be carried by Uncle Mark then ride in the sled.

Here's Auntie Jen helping Zeke figure out how to go down the stairs. Zeke LOVED the stairs...kept him occupied and gave him a workout. Wish I had some stairs at home!

Horrible picture, I know. On the way out of Tahoe the car thermometer is reading 2 degrees! Just south of Lee Vining we had to stop and chain up. Luckily we only had to drive with them on for about 15 miles. 11 hours later we were home.
Thank you Jen & Mark for your hospitality, your wine, Zeke's birthday presents, my present and your stairs!
