1st Birthday!

Here is the birthday boy playing with one of his new toys. Clayton is trying to play too but Zeke doesn't grasp "sharing" yet. Zeke really is a giant kid - Clayton is three weeks older then Zeke but look how much bigger Zeke is!
Aunt Yolanda, GrandMaMa Cathy and Zeke's cousin Mercy.

Jennifer and Clayton, Me and Zeke, Danielle and Maci

Michelle and Lucy; who will be turning two next week. Marina and Zeke.

Zeke and Papa Leonard.

Opening presents. Zeke favorite present is the BAG that his Aunt Michelle gave him his toys in. Yes, that's right, Zeke loves the bag over all the presents. The bag plays the "Happy Birthday" tune while lights flash.

Zeke's first cupcake, with icing to match his eyes.

He liked it.

Zeke's Birthday Cake. Brianna was able to bake the cake and decorate the cupcakes; but she went into labor before decorating the cake! So while Brianna was in the hospital Marina took a stab at cake decorating & she did a great job!
Zeke now has a new cousin, Olivia, born on Feb. 11th. Now there are three cousins, all born in February...this might have been Zeke's last solo birthday party!

Early Birthday Presents!

We let Zeke open a few presents early so that we could try to teach him how to open presents. We were pretty much unsuccessful.
Zeke did not like ripping the paper at all. Once we did rip a piece of the paper off for him he starting eating the paper. Grandma, I don't know what kind of special paper you got, but it tastes good!

Once the presents were unwrapped Zeke was extremely interested and happy to play with the tags on clothes. Grandma, you picked some good tags out!

Thanks for the summer clothes Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Becky; esp. the swimming clothes! Now you guys need to come see me so I can go swimming at the hotel pool!

Yum

Fresh squeezed OJ for breakfast. YUM.

Almost as good as a laundry chute

Zeke has successfully pushed out the screen on the back screen door. He likes to take various items and drop them outside now. I've found my phone out there, the TV remote control and toys outside.

Field Trip to the Sawdust Factory

Marina, Zeke and I went to the Sawdust Factory with the Mom's Club.
At the Sawdust Factory you toll paint on precut shapes to make cute holiday decorations and such.

Zeke could care less about painting but he was interesting in the hair dryers at the drying station.

Zeke found Lego's to play with while Marina and I created masterpeices of art.

Our art. Zeke's footprints were traced and cut out to make the feet on the bunny. Zeke's handprints were traced and cut out to make the wings on the baby chick.

Zeke - The Cowboy Firefighter

Zeke has been enjoying the firetruck toy that he received at Christmas. He is not enjoying the hat quite as much, but I am.

Lunch with Charlotte

The kids took turns feeding each other Cheerios.

Zeke's new favorite toy

The hose. The dogs are not pleased about this.

Hiking

Made good use of the jogging stroller and went for a "hike" in the foothills of Claremont.
Enjoyed a picnic lunch.
